OPERATIONS ASSOCIATE (CONSULTANT)

It takes a lot of behind-the-scenes effort to make sure our stores have the right products in the right place at the right time to fuel our clients’ beauty obsessions. That’s where our operations team comes in, to keep our stores looking beautiful and running smoothly “backstage!” This team is the backbone of the store and essential in providing the best possible experience for every client that walks through our doors.
Your role at Sephora:
As an Operations Associate (Consultant), you help keep the store running smoothly “backstage” in partnership with the entire operations team. You will: In addition, you will:
  • Complete daily processing and organization of damages, testers, and known theft product
  • Ensure all shipping and receiving activities are completed and executed within the store in a timely manner
  • Review all visual elements in the store and communicate missing or damaged pieces to the Ops Manager or appropriate store leadership
  • Maintain and organize the backstage area as needed

We think you’d be a great for this role if you have:

  • Minimum 1-year work experience, preferably in an operations capacity
  • Flexible availability to work during “peak” retail hours such as nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays. In the ops role, you will be required to work early mornings, late evenings, and overnight stock shifts as needed

SKINCARE ADVISOR (CONSULTANT)

As a Skincare Advisor (Consultant), you are an expert in all things skin! You will greet and provide friendly, knowledgeable service to every client who enters the skincare zone of the store. In addition, you will:
  • Listen to clients to determine their skincare needs and suggest products that meet those needs based on your expertise, Sephora product training, and available in-store technology
  • Celebrate beauty with our clients and share product knowledge as appropriate
  • Participate in operations activities such as: inventory control, loss prevention programs to reduce shortage, compliance with sampling policies and procedures, and maintaining store cleanliness standards
  • Assist in other areas of the store if requested/necessary, such as the cashwrap and the beauty studio
  • Ensure continued product training plans are met so you remain an expert in beauty trends, application, and special events within the store
  • Provide client touch-ups, skin consultations, and makeovers as required

Cashier

Cashiers provide friendly, professional and knowledgeable service to all clients in a support capacity. They complete transactions accurately and efficiently to expedite the client’s transaction, while suggesting possible complementary products and tools for their purchase.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Service

  • Complete transactions accurately and efficiently, leveraging Mobile Point-Of-Sale (MPOS) technology as necessary.
  • Process returns/exchanges in a courteous manner.
  • Engage clients in appropriate conversation while completing transaction, and provide gift-wrapping when required.
  • Provide basic store and product information to clients as needed.
  • Assist in training other cashiers and consultants on Point-Of-Sale (POS) and MPOS.

Store Presentation

  • Assist in maintaining standards of cleanliness and organization within the cashier zone.
  • Be aware of and assist in maintaining SEPHORA’s merchandising concepts.
  • Participate in programs to reduce shortage/loss.

Merchandising and Operations

  • Comply with all cash handling and related procedures.
  • Ensure safety and tidiness standards are respected and maintained at all times.
  • Communicate inventory issues/concerns to Supervisor(s), Assistant Manager(s) or Store Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with sampling policies and procedures.
  • Participate in inventory control.

EXPECTED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-2 years of retail/client service industry experience in a fast paced environment.
  • Previous cash handling or cashier experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable in engaging clients in conversation at the cash area.
  • Ability to multi-task, while providing professional and outstanding client service.
  • Effective time management, problem solving and communication skills.
  • A High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends and holidays is essential.

Stockroom Associate

The Overnight Stockroom Consultant works in partnership with the Overnight Stockroom Supervisor to support with shipment processing, stockroom organization and visual merchandise updates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Service

  • Provide friendly, professional and knowledgeable service to clients as needed during store business hours.
  • Model a values-driven culture and high ethical standards in all circumstances.

Store Presentation

  • Assist in maintaining standards of cleanliness and organization within assigned zone, including drawers, price postings and product lists.
  • Be aware of and assist in maintaining SEPHORA’s merchandising concepts.
  • Participate in programs to reduce shortage/loss.

Merchandising and Operations

  • Perform shipment receipt and processing in a timely manner.
  • Organize and maintain stockroom per company standards.
  • Check in all visual elements and communicate missing/damaged pieces to Operations or Overnight Stockroom Supervisor.
  • Ensure safety and tidiness standards are respected and maintained at all times.
  • Communicate inventory issues/concerns to Supervisor(s), Assistant Manager(s) or Store Director.
  • Ensure compliance with sampling policies and procedures.
  • Participate in inventory control.
  • Designated consultants will be cross-trained in cashier functions.
