Mental Health Worker

This employer has applied to the Canada Summer Jobs initiative. This program provides wage subsidies to employers to create employment for secondary and post-secondary students. To be eligible for a position that is funded by Canada Summer Jobs, you will need to be between 15 and 30 years of age. You will also need to have been a full-time student in the previous academic year and intend to be a full-time student in the next academic year. You will also need to be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a refugee and be legally entitled to work in the employer’s jurisdiction.

Communications Specialist

The Communications Specialist will provide support to the organization, in the planning, production and promotion of communication output/activities. The Communications Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of technical duties including maintaining media and communication systems and platforms, website and social media. The Communications Specialist will also be responsible for administrative duties, such as media monitoring and maintenance of media files, research, annual general meetings, annual reports and briefing notes, preparation of memos and correspondence and other general support activities.

Crisis & Outreach Worker

Working within a multi-disciplinary team framework throughout Oxford County, the Worker will provide crisis & outreach support to individuals who contact or are referred to Program and Counseling support and to those attending CMHA Oxford’s Walk-In Counselling Services.

Qualifications:

  • RPN, RN, OT, BSW or MSW
  • Extensive knowledge of Recovery principles
  • Knowledge of community services in Oxford County
  • Ability to develop short-term treatment plans in conjunction with the individual
  • Ability to advocate for and coordinate service access with clients
  • Crisis Management/Intervention Skills
  • Knowledge of Narrative Practices in Single session therapy
  • Knowledge of the Recovery model
  • Knowledge of attributes of serious mental illness and pharmaceuticals used in the treatment of mental illness
  • Knowledge of Legal system
  • Experience working with individuals with an ABI or Development Disability
  • Treatment of Addictions
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • A valid drivers’ license and access to a vehicle
  • Computers skills
