Letter Carrier

An on-call Delivery Agent begins their day in the depot where they sort and prepare the day’s deliveries. Once complete, the on-call Delivery Agent spends a large portion of their day on the streets delivering their routes’ mail and packages by foot or by vehicle to both residential and business customers. While making deliveries, the on-call Delivery Agent acts as an ambassador for Canada Post. Upon completion of the day’s deliveries, the on-call Delivery Agent will return to their depot where they will drop off the day’s incoming mail for sortation purposes for upcoming delivery. Newly hired on-call Delivery Agents will participate in an extensive training program which includes both classroom and on the job training

Postal Clerk

As a self-starter with a flexible schedule, you will have the opportunity to work a variety of shifts including, days, evenings, overnights and weekends. This temporary on-call position is a great opportunity to learn about the business of mail operations, as well as the great jobs available at Canada Post.

Job Responsibilities

• Sort, sequence and batch mail items
• Operate mail processing equipment (clearing jams, remove mail from sorting machines, etc.)
• Transport mail between floors/sections using rolling or motorized equipment
• Operate a computer to key in data
• Review mail items for address accuracy, proper postage, etc.
• Be required to stand in one place for up to 3.5 hours at a time
• Exercise physical effort in bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, etc.

Post Office Assistant

Job requirements (Education and Work experience)
• High school or provincial equivalency and/or experience in business administration
• Training and/or experience interacting with the public in a retail and/or service environment, including sales and cash transactions
• Understanding of general or post office accounting systems.
• Physically fit to lift mail containers of up to 50 lb, push or pull boxes, sort mail and stand for extended periods of time
• Flexibility to be available for temporary, on-call work
As part of the selection process selected candidates will be required to complete a security screening process
